The Synod of the Mid-Atlantic of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has a variety of scholarships available at various levels of education. They are as follows:

MOSELEY SCHOLARSHIP
Income from the Annie B. and L. Essex Moseley fund supports scholarships to racial ethnic high school graduates residing within the bounds of the Presbyteries of Eastern Virginia, The James, and The Peaks. The Moseley Scholarship Fund is a permanently endowed fund managed by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Foundation. The fund was begun in 1988 as a memorial to Annie B. Moseley who died in 1984. Both Mr. and Mrs. Moseley were educators who taught in the public school system of several Virginia counties. Applications for this scholarship are due to the Synod Office by February 15 each year. Scholarships will be awarded based upon availability of funds and the applicant pool. The scholarship is non-renewable. Guidelines and an application may be downloaded as follows:

STULTZ STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
Mr. and Mrs. W. Z. Stultz, long-time members of Myers Park Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, North Carolina, gave resources to fund endeavors in education. The Synod of the Mid-Atlantic used those resources to establish the Stultz Student Scholarship Fund for the purpose of providing financial assistance to deserving high school students who wish to further their education at a Presbyterian-related college or university.

Priority is given to financially deserving students who have modest family income resources. Applicants must be an active member of a PC(U.S.A.) congregation within the geographical bounds of the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

Applications for this scholarship are due to the Synod Office by February 15 each year. Scholarships will be awarded based upon availability of funds and the applicant pool. Scholarships may renew each year upon recommendation of the college; however, this is not guaranteed. Guidelines and an application may be downloaded as follows:

EILER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
By will, Harriet Elizabeth Eiler established the Eiler Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of her parents, James Rusk and Amanda Catherine Nicholas Eiler. The income from the fund is to be used to assist persons or children of persons engaged in Agribusiness in Rockingham County Virginia, who are capable, worthy, and desire to attend a Presbyterian related college or university located within the geographical bounds of the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest to the Synod’s Scholarship Committee by February 15 each year. Currently, there is no formal application process for this scholarship; however, applicants must be an active member of a PC(U.S.A.) congregation within the bounds of the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic and meet the Agribusiness in Rockingham County, Va. requirement. Anyone meeting these specific requirements is encouraged to write a letter of interest.

EULER MEMORIAL SEMINARY SCHOLARSHIP
The Sherman and Lucille Tilney Euler Scholarship was established through Mrs. Euler’s estate to prepare pastors and educators for service to the Church. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Euler were active in the Presbyterian Church throughout their lives. Mr. Euler worked for the Department of State and was on Foreign Service in Turkey and Japan where Mrs. Euler developed her interests in Ikebana Japanese flower arranging. The Eulers had no children and left the bulk of their estate to the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic for seminary scholarships. The scholarship provides financial resources for students to prepare for ministry at seminaries of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Consideration for the award may be made by application and selection is competitive.
